In the spirit of spring rebirth, renewal, and general green-ness I figured it would be best to avoid buying a cheap plastic Easter basket that would go in the landfill and never be used again, or take up valuable space in our itty closets. But despite considering myself untraditional, I still have a soft spot for traditions, and wanted to suprise the Mr. with a few Easter goodies. So I rummaged around in the recycling bin and ended up covering a tupperware bowl with wrapping paper and making a handle out of rolled up paper. The “grass” is also shredded newspaper. If you’re careful about color selection, it can come out looking not-half-bad. At least not any tackier than the baskets you’d find at the grocery store.

Now I’m off to go make some yummmmy Easter egg rolls!
